NEW YORK – Jozy Altidore will co-host a special evening with international model Adriana Lima and clothing designer Kenneth Cole on Thursday, January 14 in New York.
Altidore, a standout striker playing for the United States Men’s National Team and Toronto FC of Major League Soccer, is partnering with Lima and Cole on another important fundraiser, which will be held at the Garage located in the Hell’s Kitchen section of New York City across from Cole’s clothing-design headquarters. The event will honor Madame Marie Fenestor, director of nursing at St. Luke’s Hospital in Haiti. The night begins with two VIP receptions, the first starting at 5:30 p.m. EST, followed by the main celebration commencing at 7:30 p.m. EST at the Garage.
This important event will highlight Fenestor’s accomplishments with the St. Luke Foundation for Haiti foundation and hospital, as well as generate awareness, funding and display continued support of the successful organization.
“I am truly excited to partner with Adriana and Kenneth again for this wonderful night of celebration,” Altidore said. “As a son of Haitian immigrants, the country has always been dear to me. I am always looking for opportunities to give back to the children and people of the island nation. Honoring Madame Fenestor and generating more awareness for the St. Luke Foundation is going to be a fantastic opportunity for myself, Adriana and Kenneth.”
On the field, Altidore has put together a solid, decorated career at both the club and international levels. He currently sits alone at fourth on the all-time U.S. list for goals scored (31) in 89 career appearances with the national team, which he has twice represented at the FIFA World Cup.
Altidore, who signed with MLS club Toronto FC in January before a stint with Sunderland of the Barclays Premier League in England, is the only American player to score 30 goals or more in a single European league season in soccer history, finishing with 31 goals in 40 matches across all competitions with AZ Alkmaar during the 2012-2013 campaign.
All media outlets interested in attending or covering the event should contact Wynn Walent at wynn.walent@stlukehaiti.org or via cellular phone at 347.348.2587. Altidore will be available for all interview requests leading up to the fundraiser, as well as the night of the event.
